Dr. Carl V. Crawford is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, Attending Physician and the Fellowship Program Director in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medicine.

Dr. Crawford graduated from Georgetown University with a major in Biology in 1996. He received his medical degree in 2001 from the Yale University School of Medicine supported with a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Research Fellowship. He went on to complete his internship and residency in Internal Medicine in 2004 at NYP-Cornell. He was supported by a T-32 training grant in hormonal carcinogenesis and chemoprevention before completing his fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2008 at Weill Cornell.

Dr. Crawford’s current interests are in the evaluation and management of enteric infections including Clostridium difficile, and research on live biotherapeutic therapy (LBT) for Clostridium difficile infections. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, both the American and New York Societies of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Gastroenterological Association. Dr. Crawford is actively involved in academic medicine as well as educating the next generation of Gastroenterologists, medical students, physician assistants and house staff at NYP-Weill Cornell.
