Dr. Abhishek Deshpande serves as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and Staff in the Department of Medicine and the Department of Infectious Diseases at Cleveland Clinic.
Dr. Deshpande’s research spans a broad spectrum of interests, including evidence synthesis, comparative effectiveness, health services research, clinical practice guideline development, and infectious diseases epidemiology. His primary research focus revolves around healthcare-associated infections, with a particular emphasis on combating Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI). The overall goal of his research is to help reduce the burden and prevent hospital-acquired infections.
Dr. Deshpande has authored over 150 peer-reviewed articles, scientific presentations and book chapters in medical and infectious diseases research journals. His research is funded by extramural grants from Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and private industry sources.
