Dr. Dubberke is a Professor of Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, where he has been a faculty member in the Division of Infectious Diseases since 2005. He is a Hospital Epidemiologist at Barnes-Jewish Hospital and the Medical Director of Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Stewardship at Missouri Baptist Medical Center. He co-founded the Transplant Infectious Diseases service at Washington University in 2005.
His main research interests are in the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI). His research has influenced guidelines on the diagnosis, surveillance, treatment and prevention of CDI, and he has co-authored several CDI guidelines (Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), American Society for Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (ASTCT) and the American Society of Transplantation (AST)) and the CDI component of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) compendium to prevent healthcare-associated infections. Dr. Dubberke has made both the Clarivate Analytics Highly Cited Researchers and “Best Doctors in America” lists, and he has a clinic dedicated to patients with CDI.
